2009 NCSM Election Information

Nominations Process and Deadlines

Thank you for making nominations to the 2009 open Board positions. Nominations closed June 4, 2008. Under the leadership of Vanessa Cleaver, NCSM Nominations and Elections Chair, the NCSM Nominations Committee will process your submissions and prepare a slate of candidates for your consideration. The slate of candidates will be ready in September 2008. Members who are eligible to vote will receive postcards in the mail with the slate of candidates and instructions for online voting. (Bermuda, Florida, Georgia, Military AA: APO/FPO, Puerto Rico, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virgin Islands, Virginia)

(Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming)

Candidate Eligibility

According to the NCSM Constitution, Article V, Section 6, "A candidate for any office shall have been a member of the Council in good standing [paid membership dues] for at least one year before being placed in nomination." Therefore, members eligible to be placed in nomination must be in good standing as of May 15, 2007.

Voter Eligibility

Make sure that you are eligible to vote in the election. A notification of election postcard will be mailed to members in good standing as of August 15, 2008. It is very important to keep your membership current!

Voting Deadlines

Voting for the 2009 NCSM election will open on September 15, 2008 and close on October 15, 2008.
